Poem – Unbox Your Potential

This is the self-composed poem that I recited in my sixth-grade assembly on the topic, “Unbox Your Potential”.

Know yourself, identify your abilities
Hoping to be discovered,
Waiting to be awakened,
To be unearthed, uncovered.

Potential is your undiscovered ability,
To be the change you want to see,
Realize your dreams and desires,
Be what you want to be.

The key to discovering your potential
Lies in your strengths alone
Unbox your concealed gift
And make your talents known

Your potential is what you live for,
Live a life worth living.
When released,
You will realize that this is just the beginning.

Small steps of a man, means big leap for humankind
Discover and work on your treasure,
Your abilities, your capabilities,
To be amplified and improved, beyond measure.

Unless you try and fail, try, and fail, only to try again,
You will not discover the extents of your potential.
Your true talent is hidden inside you,
So, aspire to be for others, someone influential.
Before you step out of this world,
Do for it, something beneficial.

Your life is not the number of years,
Rather, it is the greatness of your work,
Even if done in a short span of time,
That defines your life,
Making you immortal,
In the memories and hearts of others.

So, unbox your potential,
For one day, it will be unfurled.
And your potential, discovered or not, is what you live for,
Someday, when it is unleashed, will change the world.
